ROME SENIORS

    The following are events planned for the Rome Seniors July, August, September

 WED., July 11, 2007

    The Rome Seniors are planning a trip to the Mid Continent Railway Train Ride Museum and Gift Shop.

    This is a 50 minute roundtrip in a 1900-era train pulled by a diesel locomotive.  Travel through the scenic Baraboo River Valley.  See historic railroad displays and dozens of antique railroad coaches, cabooses, freight cars and steam locomotives  GBW#49 and SOO # 2645.

    We will meet at the Town Hall and leave there at 8:15 a.m., Car pool or drive yourself.  Maps will be available.  We can view museum and gift shop before train ride.

     The cost is $10 per person and that money and your reservation should be given to Leonard Mader on or before June 11th.

WED., August 15, 2007

    The Seniors are planning a trip to Waupaca's Chain of Lakes.  We will be taking a cruise on the Chief Waupaca, a 60 foot steam wheeler complete with enclosed carpeted cabin and open sundeck.  We will sit back and relax impact, the wild life, the islands, and the folklore of the lakes.

      The boat leaves at 1:00 p.m.  -  The price is $10.00 per person.  Pay as the captain guides us on a leisurely paddle wheel cruise through 8 of the 22 spring fed lakes - a 1-1/2 hour tour.  Learn about the glacial and reserve your spot with Leonard Mader before July 15.

     The Rome Seniors will be holding their Annual Picnic at Lake Camelot Lodge.  The meal will include hot beef on homemade rolls, potato salad, baked beans, fresh fruit salad, relish tray, beverage and homemade ,dessert.  The price is $7.50 of which $5.00 will be returned to paid up members.  The money is due by July 22 to Leonard Mader.
