Property Owners and their contractors or enlisted agents:  To abide by the Town of Rome's Ordinance, property owners and/or their enlisted contractors and agents are reminded that they are responsible for showing the Zoning Administrator and Building Inspector the lot stakes. If they cannot be found, it is required of the property owner or enlisted contractor/ agent to hire a surveyor to establish the corners.
     Canopies that house boats/motorized vehicles and/or are being used as sheds are not allowed in the Town of Rome. These canopies, with the fabric or aluminum tops, do not have permits issued as garages or sheds and do not meet the building code requirements for these structures. Canopies in use are in violation and not allowed in the Town of Rome.
