    Looking ahead to August, SOLARUS (formally Wood County Telephone Company) is please to present the 8th Annual Golf for Cancer Research. Over the last seven years, more than $210,000 has been raised to fund cancer research programs at Marshfield Clinic. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, August 22^nd and will welcome 224 golfers. Two amateur golfers comprise a team to play six holes of Best Ball, six holes of Alternate Shot and six holes of a Scramble. Winning teams (low net and low gross) will earn golf packages to premiere golf facilities within the state. The entry fee is $150 per golfer. A 2006 USGA Handicap Index is required to qualify for prizes. As a participant you will receive 18 holes of golf with cart playing the Lakes or Pines golf courses, complimentary SUBWAY lunch, shirt, beverage, hors d’oeurve awards banquet and more! Let’s “tee it up” for cancer research - join us for the charitable golf event as we strive to reach our goal to donate $40,000 toward continued cancer research at the Marshfield Clinic.      Lastly, the 17th Annual Lake Arrowhead Craft Show is shaping up. We’re pleased to note we have a number of new exhibitors attending …… so mark those calendars … you won’t want to miss this show; it’s one of Central Wisconsin’s best displays of quality craftwork. The date is Sat., September 2^nd from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
