ROMEMAKERS, H.C.E.

There are many exciting events coming up for Romemaker participation. H.C.E. stands for Home and Community Educators and that is the focus of the group. In March, Romemakers are sponsoring a voter’s Forum for the Spring election. They will also have a bake sale on election day, April 3 – so look for those goodies when you vote. On March 17, HCE is presenting an International Day where we all learn about China. April 10 is the Spring Fling – a day of learning and crafts, April 19 is set aside to learn about Rain gardens; where they should go, how and why to build one, what plants do the best in them and more information. Diane from Green’s Greenhouse will be the presenter. In June, the H.C.E. group is planning a summer trip to Madison. They will tour the Capitol and Governor’s Mansion and gardens, Allen Centennial Garden, and have lunch at the Babcock Center. Also, throughout the summer, Romemakers assist with Roadside Cleanup. They are a very service minded group.

The Romemakers H.C.E. club had a “Bring a Friend” meeting in February. Several new members have joined the group, but if you missed the meeting and would like more information, please call Jeanne at 325-6244.
