Friends of the Lester Public Library of Rome

      The Friends of the Library is an organization whose purpose is to expand the partnership between the library and the surrounding community by advocating the growth and development of resources and facilities, promoting community awareness and understanding of the library, and encouraging community support of library services and projects. Members support the Friends group by:

1.  Joining the organization for an annual dues of $5.00

2.  Attending meetings (3 per year) and offering suggestions and ideas to meet our purpose.

3.  Assisting with projects undertaken by the group.

      The Friends are working on several exciting events in 2007. We are working with the Foundation on the 2^nd annual Wine Tasting Party in April. Proceeds will go to the Library Expansion Fund. In June, we will be helping with a week-long celebration of the library’s 5 year anniversary in Rome.

     Our Fall/Winter meeting will be Dec. 2, 2006 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. at the library. We plan to have a short business meeting, then to decorate for the Holidays and lastly to have a Holiday Tea Social. All members of the Friends are invited to attend. If you wish to join the Friends of the Library, please stop in and ask for a form at the desk
